Maybe one of the most significant steps of technological developments of the past years was the CAD/CAM systems in dentistry. A special scanner scans and records the data made from the impression of the prepared teeth of the model on the computer. Then it is forwarded through internet to the international manufacturer centre, then the “manufacturing “of the zirconium frame of the prosthesis begins. The elaboration of the final form of the crown is made in Hungary according to the dentist’s requirements.

Advantages and disadvantages of the zirconium prosthesis

Thanks to the strength of the zirconium frame even full arch bridges can be created with metal-free solution. Only disadvantage is their significantly higher price comparing to metal-ceramic prosthesis.
Their aesthetic advantage lies in that the crowns and FPD-s do not contain any metal, so the propagation of light in the prosthesis and its surroundings is almost the same as in the natural ones.
